Yes, for those that where wondering what the hell was up with the last podcast, it was an April Fools Joke. The funny or not funny part is that Donk is real and not made up. There are plenty of kids in Northern England that do want to put a Donk on it.
For this episode, I return to the roots of my previous podcasts, emulating my favorite radio show of all times, "The Blue Room" on Radio One. This is a very eclectic mix of styles from a couple of old favorites and a host of folks that you may not have heard of yet, but you will.
To highlight a few standouts, first there is the Norwegian down tempo artist, Jap Jap. Next up is my favorite new indie band, The William Blakes, representing Denmark. Denmark is becoming the new Sweden with more and more quality music. Local LA boys, Flying Lotus and Nalepa, bring the glitch and the dub. Bristol England 's Bront Industries Kapital make some noise with a cinematic jazz freakout – but in a good way. Last but not least, Prins Thomas turns Jape's "Floating", into an amazing sunrise banger meant to be heard under the open skies in the early morning light.
My podcast can now be found at www.samplerplatters.com. Samplerplatters.com will soon be launching as a daily blog with tracks too fresh to wait for a podcast.
